Quidditch is a fast, exciting and dangerous game in which two teams fly on broomsticks to compete for points scored by throwing a ball, the Quaffle, through hoops on either end of a large grassy pitch. The teams are made up of seven players consisting of three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper and one Seeker.

The Chasers pass the Quaffle by hand amongst themselves and attempt to score goals by throwing it through their opponent’s three goal hoops. The Keeper protects the three goal hoops whilst the seekers job is to chase and capture the elusive Golden Snitch. The Golden Snitch is a small golden ball, the size of a walnut. The team who catches the Snitch win 150 points and the game will only end with the capture of the Snitch. In fact, some games can last for days, and even months, if the Snitch is not caught.
