Harry Potter Gryffindor Robe
If you want to become a member of Gryffindor house this Halloween, why not wear a Harry Potter Gryffindor robe. Gryffindor is one of the four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy to which Harry, Hermione and Ron all belong.
The Gryffindor robes are long black robes with attached hood and burgundy lining. They are embroidered with the Gryffindor Crest patch on the front. The crest is a lion rampant in scarlet and gold and symbolising courage.

Gryffindor was founded by Godric Gryffindor, one of the four founders of Hogwarts and is headed by Professor Minerva McGonagall. The characteristics of Gryffindor are courage, bravery, daring and chivalry.
The Gryffindor Common room is located in one of the castle’s towers located on the seventh floor. It is guarded by a painting of a Fat Lady in a pink dress. You can only enter if you give the correct password which regularly changes. If you know the right password, she swings open to reveal a round opening in the wall. The common room has lots of squashy armchairs, tables and a fireplace.
There is a house ghost: Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, also known as Nearly Headless Nick.
There is a great rivalry between the House of Gryffindor and the House of Slytherin. Lord Voldemort is a member of the House of Slytherin which values the qualities of cunning, ambition and resourcefulness. The other two houses (Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw) tend to side with Gryffindor against the Slytherin who are the source of most dark wizards.

Harry Potter costumes are the most absolute favorite with my kids and the interest does not seem to be lessening any time soon, especially after the release of the more recent film. I think Harry Potter is a fairly good influence on kids, right and wrong, good and bad etc. I have two girls and one boy, so it looks like Harry will be out numbered by two Hermione’s again next Halloween unless I dress as an adult Harry, rather feel more like Dumbledore most of the time though.
