Dementor Costume
Another great Halloween costume to scare your friends and neighbors with is a Dementor costume. These foul soul-sucking creatures first appeared in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as the guards of the wizard prison.
The Dementor costume is really very scary and consists of a long black robe with chest piece and a black mask. To perfect the look make sure you add a pair of Dementor gloves that look like Dementor hands. Click on any picture for full details and more choices.

The Dementors generally have a human shape and are about ten feet tall, covered in dark, hooded cloaks that only reveal grey and decaying hands. They have no eyes and have a large hole where their mouth should be. They grow like fungi in the darkest, dankest places and create a dense and chilly fog. They do not have many magical talents, only their ability to fly.
As these vile creatures are blind, they rely on their senses and feed on the positive emotions and good memories of human beings and force them to relive their worst memories. Being in the presence of a Dementor makes the atmosphere grow cold and dark.
Harry Potter first meets the Dementors at the start of this third year at Hogwarts when they are sent to guard the school against Sirius Black who had escaped Azkaban. Whenever a Dementor gets near Harry, he is forced to relive his worst memory which is hearing the last moments of his parents’ lives.

Harry Potter outfits are all the rage here in the UK and the film continues to gather fans here so I can expect the popularity of these outfits to continue to push forward in 2010.:D
